Lancaster County Junior Golf Tour

Former Pequea Valley Head Coach, Hempfield Assistant Coach and LCJGT Rules Official Bill "Big C" Chronister was a mentor and positive influence on many Lancaster County junior golfers. He enjoyed coaching, playing and offering his advice, particularly to his son, current Hempfield Golf Coach and LCJGT Tournament Director, Jon. In honor of that, LCJGT created a scholarship fund that is used to award scholarships to golfers who played in LCJGT tournaments prior to their junior and/or senior years in high school. 

The scholarship fund monies come from several sources. We designate a portion of the case received from our sponsors to the scholarship fund. We accept donations and memorial gifts for the "Big C" Scholarship Fund. Each year, we hold a fundraising golf tournament to raise funds for the scholarship.

The annual "Big C" Scholarship Golf Tournament honors Bill's legacy in the format we play. The event is a 2 player scramble where the players must have at least a 10 year age gap between the partners. We have many parent / junior golfer teams participating in each event. We also have other teams where older and younger players have paired up to participate. We accept up to 54 teams in the event each year. 

LCJGT has been joined in our scholarship effort by the Lancaster County Golf Association (LANCO) and the Lancaster Ladies' City-County Golf Association (LLCCGA). LANCO contributes money to one scholarship each year. The Lancaster Ladies support scholarships for up to two girls from Lancaster County each year. We are so thankful for their support and partnership in offering scholarship to LCJGT players. 

The scholarship application is posted here early each year. We accept applications until July 1 each year. Scholarships are awarded at the Tour Championship at Lancaster Country Club.
