TD Comments – Tour Championship @ Lancaster CC
Wow! What a fantastic day of golf and suspense at Lancaster Country Club. While some individuals may not have played up to their hopes or expectations, in general, the scores at by far our most challenging course were spectacular. In addition, the rain basically held off until we were finished. I want to again thank LCC, Lusk & Associates, and Pull the Pin for their support of the tour.
In the Girls Gold Division Brooke Graham started off the strong scoring by making birdie on her final hole to shoot 76 and finish first. She wins The Walters Cup, named after long-time Tournament Director Skip Walters and awarded to the winners of the Girls Gold and Boys Gold Divisions. Elle Overly finished just one shot behind and in second place. Based on her strong finish to the season, Taylor Hicks was able to secure first place in the Pull the Pin player of the year standings.
Lawson Leeper finished off a very consistent season where he never finished lower than fourth in the Boys Silver Division. Lawson’s round of 77 was fourteen shots better than the next players in the division. Andrew Borneman won the Pull the Pin player of the year in this division.
The Boys Gold Division was captured by Andrew Bilson, who won for his second time of the season to secure the Walters Cup. Andrew started off hot making the turn at three under par and then shot a one over par 36 on the back for the win. Andrew’s score of 68 is the lowest winning score since the tour championship has made LCC its regular home. Trevor Snyder shot 71 to finish in second place. Third place went to Caden Blanchette who posted a 72 that in many years would have been low enough to win. Trevor Snyder, with two wins on the season and lots of other top finishes, won the Pull the Pin player of the year honor.
